Yes, the submarines are powered with electrical motors and are very silent. You can even feel and hear the underwater sea life.

Submarine Captain

Can the Captain be the pilot?
We suggest that the Captain undergo at least the theoretical training part of the program. It is important for the captain to understand the whole process of operating the submarine.

How long does the training last?
The training consists typically of one week theory in Finland in our premises and of another week of operational training. The training can be also done on the yacht.

Who is in charge of the submarine operation?
Each submarine operation has to have a trained surface/operations controller. He/She must be a trained submarine pilot and is responsible for the submersible operation at all times. The operations controller coordinates submersible activities with the support vessel captain.

How many persons are needed to operate a submarine?
At least one licensed pilot and one trained surface controller.

How does current affect the submarine operation?
The usual maximum current for safe operation is 2 knots. However we can install battery pods to increase propulsion when requested. We devote an important part of our pilot training program on current handling.
